Edtomorrow is growing, and we’re looking for a web developer who can help us move faster. You might be that person. Or maybe it’s a friend or family member. Either way, we want to start with our educator community.
Role type: Contract to start, with the potential to grow into part-time or full-time
Focus: Front end and back end development with quick turnarounds on daily requests
Our WordPress-powered blog reaches over 150,000 educators with resources, tools, and community features. We need a versatile full-stack developer to own all things tech from coding new features and managing ads to designing user-friendly pages and keeping everything running smoothly. If you or someone you know can handle it all and deliver fast, we’d love to connect!
What You’ll Do:
- WordPress Ownership: Build and customize themes, plugins, and site features; optimize for speed, security, and high traffic; integrate with tools like WooCommerce or APIs.
- Full-Stack Development: Handle backend (PHP, MySQL, user systems, APIs) and frontend (HTML/CSS/JS, responsive designs) to create seamless experiences across devices.
- UX/UI & Design: Wireframe and prototype intuitive interfaces (using Figma or similar), run A/B tests, ensure accessibility, and focus on what keeps users engaged.
- Ad Management: Set up, optimize, and track ads (Google AdSense, sponsors) for revenue; comply with privacy regs like GDPR while maintaining site performance.
- Daily Operations & More: Manage hosting, backups, SEO, Git version control, email/payment integrations, and any ad-hoc tasks—be the go-to for quick fixes and innovations.
- Quick Turnarounds: Prioritize fast responses to daily needs, from bug fixes to new builds, in a collaborative, remote environment.
Skills We Need:
- WordPress Expertise: 5+ years with WP core, custom development, REST API, and scaling busy sites.
- Full-Stack Tech: Proficient in PHP/JavaScript, databases, servers/cloud (AWS/DigitalOcean), and modern frameworks if needed.
- Design & Optimization: Experience with UX tools, SEO, analytics (Google Analytics), and performance testing.
- Ad & Monetization: Knowledge of ad platforms, tracking, and revenue strategies without UX trade-offs.
- Versatile & Proactive: Self-starter who thrives on variety, communicates clearly, and adapts quickly—no specific industry experience required.
- Bonus: E-commerce, automation, or DevOps skills.
What We Offer:
- Competitive contract rates, scaling to part-time/full-time.
- Remote, flexible work with a supportive team.
- Tools and budget for your success.
- Chance to shape a platform educators rely on.
