Introducing the SPED Corner

Blogs, Updates
Aug 25, 2026

The First Five was built around a pretty simple idea: give every classroom a few minutes each day to connect, think, laugh, reflect, and start the day together.

But together is the important word.

Over the past few years, we have been thinking more intentionally about how we can make the First Five work for even more learners.

We started by creating Spanish editions of the First Five. Then, we took another step by beginning to incorporate Spanish directly into our existing English editions, making it easier for students to access the same First Five experience together.

Now, we are taking the next step.

Welcome to the SPED Corner

Every Tuesday, look for a quick SPED Corner tip exclusively in your First Five email.

Each tip will share one simple, practical way to adapt the First Five to better support students with different learning needs.

These are not meant to be complicated lesson changes or another thing to add to your planning list. They are small adjustments to the First Five you are already using.

You might find a different way for students to respond to a discussion question, an adjustment that gives students more processing time, a way to reduce sensory barriers, or a simple change that helps more students participate in a game or activity.

Because sometimes making something more accessible does not require changing the activity.

It just requires creating another way into it.

Same First Five. More ways to participate.

Don’t Miss Your First Five Emails

The SPED Corner is just one of several new extras we are building directly into our daily emails this year.

Along with your daily First Five, keep an eye out for classroom management tips, exclusive discount codes, teacher scavenger hunts, prizes, giveaways, Teacher Lounge fun, and plenty more throughout the school year.

Some of these extras, including the weekly SPED Corner, will be email exclusives and will not be posted on the Edtomorrow website, so make sure you are opening your First Five emails each morning.

We have a lot more planned, and we cannot wait to share it with you.
