Cheers to 800… and Cheers to Mom

There are some Fridays that just feel a little different.

This is one of them.

Today, we’re celebrating 800 editions of the First Five.
800 mornings of showing up.
800 opportunities to help classrooms start with connection, care, and a little bit of energy.

When we first started, the goal was simple.
Give teachers something they could actually use.
Something quick. Something meaningful. Something that didn’t feel like “one more thing.”

And now here we are.

800 editions later.

That doesn’t happen by accident.

It happens because of you.

The teachers who open the email before the first bell.
The ones who try something new, even when the day already feels full.
The ones who keep showing up for their students, day after day.

We wouldn’t be here without our community.

And today, there’s another reason to celebrate.

Mother’s Day is right around the corner.

And if you think about it, a lot of what makes a great teacher overlaps with what makes a great mom.

Patience.
Care.
The ability to manage a million things at once.
Showing up even when you’re exhausted.
Finding ways to make others feel seen, supported, and valued.

So today feels like a good day to recognize both.

The educators who have helped build something special through 800 editions of the First Five…
And the mothers, in and out of schools, who do so much that often goes unseen.

Maybe it’s a message.
Maybe it’s a quick thank you.
Maybe it’s just taking a second to actually say it out loud.

Because just like in the classroom, the small moments matter.

So here’s to 800.
And here’s to the people who made it possible.

Happy Friday.
